Nothing to install on your computer or iPod, just plug them on top where your ear-buds go. They come with a cover that keeps the plugs covered and tight, and a hole on each so you can put them on your keychain for easy access. But just wait til you need to find your keys, or light your path, easily plug in the flashlight, and WOW, there's light, and plenty of it. And if you're somewhere at a lecture, and the speaker doesn't have a laser, you easily plug in your class IIIA laser pointer, and it's bright red light will point the way. Or use it to play with your pets, cats love it...
