Belkin's Voice Recorder for iPods with a Dock Connector is a winner. It's very simple to use, just insert it on the top of your iPod in the remote/headphone connector, it automatically tells your iPod to start recording, so you're ready for lectures, music, conversations, or just notes you want to use later, it date and time stamps each message you create, excellent. Then when you go to your computer, you easily download them into iTunes when syncing. Couldn't be easier!
Since it's also a speaker, you can preview what you recorded, to decide if you want to do it again on the fly, or not. very helpful. I'd like if they added an ability to use your earbuds at the same time by putting a plug on the top of the Voice Recorder. You can use your iPod with Voice Recorder as a travel alarm too, just set your iPod, and the Voice Recorder's speaker will revive you!
It's handy LED indicator tells you you're recording. iPod creates audio files in mono WAV format. It has a 16mm speaker, requires no software, very compact, and Belkin's lifetime warranty can't be beat! I recommend it.
