I am Dusty Dutton.

I have Down syndrome and diabetes. I am 33.

• My favorite Garth Brooks songs are: Long Neck Bottle, Two Pina Coladas, Thunder Roll, What She's Doing Now, Standing Outside the Fire and We Shall Be Free.
  

• My favorite Neil Diamond songs are: Tennessee Moon, One Good Love, Everybody Hear Me, Love Don't Rust, America, September Morn, Sweet Caroline, I am I said, Song Sung Blue, and all the songs in his Christmas Show. I went to 3 Neil Diamond concerts.
  

• My favorite Elvis songs are Blue Suede Shoes, All Shook Up, I Want To Be Your Teddy Bear, Hound Dog, and Love Me Tender.
• My favorite John Denver songs are: Rocky Mountain High, Sunshine on My Shoulder, Country Roads, and Home on the Range. I went to John Denver's concert too. He came to my town a few years ago.
  

• My favorite Paul Simon songs are: Just Crazy After All These Years, Wake Up Little Suzie, The Boxer, and all the songs on the Graceland Album. I went to see Paul Simon too, with Richard and Mary and my dad.
  

• I like opera too. I went to the opera in Santa Fe, and I saw The Magic Flute, Xerxes, and Madam Butterfly. Opera is wonderful.
  

My dreams for my future are:

• I want to be on stage. I would like to be on stage in Tennessee Moon with Neil Diamond. I went to his concert in Sacramento on August 5, 1996. I wore my red dress and sang every song with Neil. I am going to another concert on December 8. I also like being on stage as a puppeteer, and making presentations at conferences.
  

• I want to get married. I'd like to be a bride, to wear a wedding outfit, to have roses, and a cake, and a handsome husband.

My College:

I graduated from the College of Marin in May, 1998.
I took classes in music, art, dance, drama, computers, business and P.E.
I still take some classes. Last year I took a class in Starting a New Business Venture.
When I was a full time student, I sang in 5 concerts with the College Chorus. We were great.

My job:

I have 2 jobs. I am working at the Holiday Inn and the Marriott. Right now I am doing cleaning, polishing and folding, and taking care of cob webs. It is really fun and it is hard work. I get to wear a uniform. I also have volunteer jobs at a church and at Head Start and at a Senior center.

My Home

In July, 2001, I moved into my own apartment. Then in 2002, we moved into a house. I have 2 great roommates named Angela and Lexie. I have Supported Living, so Angela helps me with lots of things, like cooking, cleaning, shopping, and going places. We are having so much fun. We have gone to the movies, out to dinner, to the rodeo, belly dancing, and we have even gone on some double dates. Of course I still see my parents a lot, but I really like living in my own place. It feels good to be more independent.

Angela has a little girl named Lexie. She ia very cute, and I am helping to take care of her. I play with her, and I show her my videos. I can do my puppet shows for Lexie and her friends.
