Community Inclusion

I like to do things in the community.

When I was in high school, my school was my community during the day, and my neighborhood was my community after school and on weekends. I lived in a great neighborhood. We had big parties on the 4th of July, on Halloween, and Christmas.

Now I am in a day program, called Casa Allegra Community Services that takes us to lots of fun places in my community and give us support so we can succeed. We take classes at the College of Marin, go to restaurants and movies, go to the market, go to museums, go to malls and the civic center, go on picnics, go shopping, and do volunteer work for people who need us.

I do volunteer work at the Ross Valley Players. I help pass out programs and sell refreshments. Then I get to see the plays. I was in a play once, called "Wishes, Lies and Dreams" at the College of Marin.

I like to go to concerts at the Marin Civic Center, and plays at the College of Marin, the Ross Valley Players, and the Mountain Play. I love to go to movies with my friends.

Kate taught me how to use the bus. I take Bus #1 to the College of Marin.

I like to go to restaurants with my friends or my family. Some of my favorites are the Pacific Cafe in Kentfield, the Marin Brewing Company and the Yet Wah at Larkspur Landing, and Willow Street Pizza in San Rafael.
