Cal-TASH Activities and/or Accomplishments of 2007:

 

1.   25th Annual Cal-TASH Conference

25 Years of Building Inclusive Communities:  Home, School, Work, Play, and Neighborhood

on February 2nd and 3rd of 2007  in Manhattan Beach, CA

 

2.  Peter Yarrow Fundraiser

Concert, Dinner and Silent Auction

on May 6th, 2007 Concert in Berkeley and Dinner in Oakland, CA

 

3.  Summer Symposium

Building and Sustaining Social Relationships in our Communities, School Through Adult Life

on June 28th and 29th of 2007 in Santa Barbara, CA

 

4.  Board of Directors Retreat and Board Meeting

Retreat: reaffirm the Cal-TASH Mission, Values and Vision, develop an Action Plan

on July 20th and 21st of 2007 in Burlingame, CA

 

5.  Board of Directors Meetings for 2007

3 face-to-face meetings and one conference call

face to face were on February 1st, in Manhattan Beach, July 21st, in Burlingame, and November 2nd, in Northridge, CA of 2007

¥ Conference call was in April of 2007

 

6.  Northern Ca Conference Planning Committee Meetings

Committee met three times to plan for the 26th Annual Cal-TASH Conference, numerous e-mails and phone calls plus each committee member had numerous responsibilities

Met on August 7th, September 28th, and November 9th, of 2007

 

7. Raffle and Silent Auction at 25th Annual Conference

on February 2, 2007 at Manhattan Beach Marriott Hotel

 

 

8.  Presentation of Cal-TASH Awards at 25th Annual Conference

The Bill Rosenberg Memorial Award, The Robert Gaylord-Ross Memorial Award, The Mary Falvey Outstanding Young Person Award

Presented on February 2nd and 3rd of 2007 in Manhattan Beach

 

9.  Sponsored TASH 2007 in Seattle, Washington

3,500 dollars sent to TASH for Sponsorship of Conference in Seattle, many Cal-TASH board members and members supported conference by attending presenting and sending students from California Universities 

on December 5th through 8th, 2007

 

10.  Sponsored Supported Life Institute 21st Annual Conference

ÒCreate Positive Change through Shared ActionÓ sponsored $500 plus several board members and members presented at and attended conference

on October 3rd through 5th, 2007 in Sacramento, CA

 

11.  Held an election for Cal-TASH Board of Directors

Membership voted for 5 board of directors, for the term 7-1-07 to 6-30-10

 

12.  Solicited Sponsorships for Cal-TASH 26th Annual Conference

raised 2,800 dollars through sponsorship campaign for 26th Annual Conference; not including in-kind services and supports by numerous persons and agencies

 

13.  Reviewing and up-dating By-laws

consulted with non-profit attorney: reviewing and up-dating by-laws and articles of incorporation to comply with all state and federal non-profit corporation law

 

14.  Cal-TASH Board of Directors is working to make sure board meetings are able to accommodate ÒALLÓ 

Cal-TASH bought an LCD projector so accessible power points can be presented during meetings, agendaÕs use pictures as adaptations, and our web-site is being re-constructed to be Òconsumer friendlyÓ, an Accommodations Committee has been established

 

15.  Each Board Member belongs and represents Cal-TASH on numerous committees, consortiums, coalitions and organizations that they educate regarding the values of Cal-TASH

which reflects the diversity of Cal-TASH Board of Directors (including self-advocates, parents of self advocates, adult service providers, school district personnel, and university faculty)
