pp 18-33 Comic Artists Profiles by K.K.R. Worth
This rockin’ survey of “the artists behind the independent comics scene” features brief bios of thirteen different comix artists along with a section of their responses to a list of questions and reviews. This gem of a survey is a must-have item for anybody interested in the 80s underground comix scene. MICHAEL RODEN is featured in a (almost) half-page bio on page 18. The Big Daddy Land art print is reproduced as an illustration. Then on page 24 is a small advertisement for Thru Black Holes Comix (Awake/Asleep) that features a totally awesome MR illustration. MR also responds to most of the seven questions that are asked of the featured artists. This is cool! I mean, in addition to MR, we get WAYNE HONATH, MARY FLEENER, DENNIS WORDEN, JOHN E, ACE BACKWARDS, ROY TOMPKINS, BRAD FOSTER and others. Track down a copy today!
This issue has tons of music reviews and several contributions by JOHN CRAWFORD and ACE BACKWARDS.
Resource Note:
Thanks to MICHAEL RODEN for providing a copy of this rare gem of a zine.
