The Crazy Men visit a Museum. In this amazing issue, MICHAEL RODEN teams up with ace artist JIM RYAN in a superb collaborative effort that is truly a wonder to behold.
Basically,
I did the faces, and Mike did backgrounds and settings. Also, Mike did the collage
face on p. 2, the 3 small collage men on p. 5, and the collage faces lower left
p. 6 and upper right p. 7. We had a lot of fun doing it. Mike is good to work
with – prompt, considerate, tolerant, professional. … The double
face, lower right, p. 6 … is made from a photo of my miserable, miserly,
abusive, demanding old slave driver of an employer – just a bit of revenge
via the comix – makes life more bearable.
JIM RYAN: letter to DLC dated July 22, 1985
There are two variants of this wonderfully imaginative book: one on salmon index stock and the other (rare) on white. The white copies (of this and several other minis) were published for people who wanted to color the comix.
Every panel in this wonderful mini-comix is truly amazing!
