CASCADE COMIX MONTHLY was the premier underground comix news and interviews publication during the late 1970s and early 1980s. Hats off to editor ARTIE ROMERO for a great effort. MICHAEL RODEN showed up in several issues.

page 33     The Cube

Full-page cosmic-psychedelic story told without words. Recounts the trials and tribulations of being a cube.

page 35     Brainy Shows Us: An Alien’s Cell Growth

The title pretty well describes this amazing one-page narrative. This is an incredibly imaginative exercise in speculative exobiology: “They begin as microscopic rock parasites.” I do wish the printing had been a little clearer, though.

Also worthy of note:

page 16     JUSTIN GREEN (untitled drawing)

Very cool small drawing of a guy thinking too much.

page 31     BRUCE N. DUNCAN (Attention, Crumb and Kominsky Fans!)

Cool hand-lettered advertisement for the 21st issue of TELETIMES “which will have an R. Crumb front cover illustration and plans to feature a joint interview with The Noodle and The Bunch.” Cool.
