If you have any interest in the zines of the 1980s you simply must track down a complete run of BLOTTER. It's funny. It's irreverent. It stretches the bounds of good taste (to put it mildly). And the art is consistently great. Which is to say ... it's everything a zine is supposed to be and more.
page 73 untitled drawing (My mind creates the enemy)
page 74 untitled drawing (Sediment rises, dead)
Both of these beautifully mysterious pages (drawn by DARYL HUTCHISON and MICHAEL RODEN) feature words by ROY TOMPKINS who really has got to be one of the most wild and weird people on this planet. These two drawings were among the last Mike did before his "retirement" from comix. They were originally to have been published in an all-HUTCHISON/RODEN book (which sadly never saw print) entitled THE GREAT STONE HEAD.
This particular issue of BLOTTER has contributions by about six hundred other great artists and is thus very highly recommended — if you can find a copy.
