I try to make films that are relevant to everyday people, drawing upon the people and stories I know. I find inspiration in both high art and low art. For me, film is mainly a medium to entertain. And a lot of times, what is most entertaining is that which is most emotional. I believe constraining yourself to a single genre limits your ability to see the infinite amazing little details in the world and life that defy genre. My favorite films have elements of all genres, I think because real life is that way. The three directors I like to think about most are Antonioni, Fellini, and Bunuel.
