""Changing Sea Levels - effects of tides, weather and climate"
Nothing is perfect.
Despite our best efforts errors occur in the printed text.
Here are those I know about. Tell me when you find others...there are sure to be more!
CUP editing is superb, but eventually I did find two minor corrections, and two improvements:
page 104: line 14 "the south west" (space missing)
page 106: line 17 It's Table 3.5 (not 3.4)
page 72 Tables 3.4 and 3.5: add "for 30 March 2002" to the captions? Not essential, but it links to the pg 106 correction.
And here is an improvement suggested by Sean Chamberlin, Fullerton College
pg 86 caption to Figure 4.6
( a) to be inserted after "in the northern hemisphere." and before
"(b) " The High Tide at hour zero is propagating anticlockwise around the central point, so will reach points 1 to 5 in sequence: the tide is rising at these points. On the other side the Low Tide at hour six will travel to points 7 to 11, and so the levels are falling along that coast."
Joe Depner points out that the reference on page 170 to Murray-Wallace (2003) is not reflected in the list of references at the end. This book has been delayed but may now appear in 2008. Joe's account of tides (http://www.depnerphoto.com/hydro/index.html) is well worth a visit, and he has some superb images of the coast in his catalogue.
