Relaxation Massage
Relaxation Massage is a light relaxing massage. It uses effleurage—gliding strokes to gently warm the muscles. After the muscles have been warmed, pettrisage, a type of kneading stroke is then applied, to again warm the muscles at a deeper level. This also helps identify adhesions as well as break up toxins in the tissue. This is primarily a massage for first timers and those who simply want to relax.

Swedish Massage
Swedish Massage is probably the most well known or heard of. It uses a series of specific slow smooth strokes to create an improved circulatory environment within the body’s system. This relaxes muscle tension, improves joint range of motion and promotes a general state of well being. It involves the effleurage and petrissage as the relaxation massage does, as well as friction strokes that create a deeper sense of heat to break up adhesions and work deeper into joint spaces. You then use tapotement, —a series of brisk rhythmical blows to the muscle using various parts of the fingers or hands. It is used to loosen and stimulate congestion. After tapotement, nerve strokes are applied which are very light strokes used with finger tips to bring the body back together as a whole.

Connective Tissue
"Connective tissue binds specific cells into tissues, tissues into organs, organs into systems. It cements muscles to bones and ties bones into joints. It wraps every nerve and vessels, laces all internal structures firmly into place and envelops the body as a whole."

From this description you can see that connective tissue makes up our whole body. Connective tissue comes in many forms, and as we get older it dries up or becomes too rigid and our bodies become old feeling. Connective tissue massage is a series of very light slow strokes that bring the body into a more fluid balanced state. It keeps joints moveable and creaking free. It's great for people with arthritis and the elderly or those who need to relax. Though it doesn’t feel like a deep massage, as the above description says this massage goes to the deepest of all the layers, the core of the body the cells.

Sports Massage and Injury Rehabilitation
Sports massage can be used for anyone that is working out, even just a little. It can be broken down into three main stages: Pre-event, Post-event and Rehabilitation.

Pre-event massage occurs any where from 2 hours to 15 minutes before an event. (15 -45 is generally recommended.) This, however, should not be used as a warm up. It is a quick 15-20 minute massage that targets the main muscles. It is designed to be a compliment to the warm up, giving the athlete a chance to get motivated for the upcoming event and extra pep to the muscles. It is done with no oils and is performed right over the athletes clothing.

Post-event is a basic relaxation massage with no deep work, following the event up until 36 hours after the event. This is used to help release lactic acid and toxins as well as to stretch the muscle and help cool down. This does not replace a cool down.

Injury Rehabilitation provides relief from accidents or traumas to a muscle, whatever it may be. It usually involves stretching, heat/ice therapy and trigger point work. You must always consult a doctor for any major disability.

Deep Tissue and Body Balancing
Deep tissue massage uses stroke that really get into the muscle and break up adhesions. It usually involves cross fibering the attachment site of the muscles as well as stretching and strengthening muscles to keep the body in balance.

Trigger Point Therapy
Along the body there are specific areas that are known to cause pain in people. Trigger point therapy is simply pressure applied to these areas to break up toxins and allow fresh nutrients in, causing relaxation to the rest of the area.

Prenatal and Postnatal Massage
Prenatal massage is a great massage for women in the second and especially third trimesters of pregnancy. Here is a small list of benefits or prenatal massage:

  • 1st Trimester—It’s relaxing and pampering. It relieves headaches from hormonal changes as well as helping with fatigue and morning sickness.
  • 2nd Trimester—Relieves backache, leg cramps, sciatic pain.
  • 3rd Trimester—May reduce edema. Same benefits as mentioned and helps with body image. Also at 8 weeks the fetus can feel what is going on and it can be a very bonding experience for mother and baby.

Postnatal massage can help get the body back to its normal state and break up and adhesions up before they become permanent scars. It can also help in postpartum blues.

Chair Massage
Need a quick pick mw up, but don’t have time to get undressed, get on the table, lay there for and hour or an hour and a half, get dressed and race back to work? But you would like a massage, and your work doesn’t offer chair massage. Then stop by my office and get your own chair massage: 10-30 minute mini-massages, fully clothed, no olis. Sit down, relax and get back to work in almost no time. (Note: a special therapeutic chair is made available for this service.) Call for more details.

On-site Chair Massage
Onsite Chair Massage is great for parties, company gatherings, a simple "thank you" for a job well done, or a "pick me up." I'll come to your place of business (great for for both offices and retail locations) and I'll provide simple but very relaxing and rejuvenating 10-15 minute massages for employees. Work is no longer a chore when you can look forward to a massage during your day!

Planning a conference or convention? Nothing is more appreciated by weary exhibitors than a chance to retreat to a lounge area for a quick chair massage.

Event Massage (Individual or Group)
This is a special service just perfect for the wedding day jitters, bachelorette party, and wedding or baby shower.

It’s also a great way so say "thank you" to all those who help, as well as relax them before the ceremony. I come to you with massage chair or table to choose. It’s a package deal of three hours which includes additional travel and supplies. You decide if you want individual half hour sessions, or 10-15 minute chair massages.

Want to have an extra special reception? I can stay and chair massage away, making your guest really happy they showed up.

NEWEar Coning (Candling)
If you’d like to get through the cold and flu season without a hint of sinus pressure, then you’d better get your ears cleaned out! That’s right your ears!! Do you think your ears are clean now? Wait 'til you try Ear Coning/Candling. It's my newest service that has people talking, and will really have you "hearing things"!

Ear candling is an ancient treatment. It uses a hollow candle made of bees wax or paraffin. The outside is light and smoke is drawn out from the bottom. The candle is then inserted into the ear. The swirling smoke draws out wax, yeast and other toxins hidden in the ear canal and chambers. It is a very relaxing treatment and great for little kids, and those who suffer from sinuses, and yeast disorders, and those who have lost some hearing in the past.
