Progress Updates

It's been awhile since I've made any updates to the blog, so here's where I am.

A week ago, I had a whole weekend and week at home alone. I was able to work on my layout every night and made a lot of progress.

First, I managed to complete transferring the Lindenwood Yard CAD drawing from 3rdPlanIt to the homasote.

I used a Sharpie marker and my T square to line up push pin holes.

I have also laid cork from Lindenwood all the way to grade down to the Hidden Return Loop.

It was the push pin highway for a while.

Finally Track is Laid!!

I've successfully hand laid two #6 turnouts, which work great and rolling stock rolls through them well. I did think to check for polarity issues and resolved some before setting them in place.

As of today, the track is laid all the way up the grade. I've even tested a loco on it. My next steps are to continue to lay track to Lindenwood, wire in the Loy's Toy's Automatic Reverse Section Controller. I also need to finalize the use of Radio Shack ceramic magnets for uncoupling purposes. I'll use a router and cut a depression in the yard homasote.
