Prep for this Thursday Night

I worked on making curvable sections of homasote in preparation for Thursday Night Train Group.

Tonight I installed two more risers in the loop portion of the plywood. Then I worked on making curvable sections of homasote by cutting kerfs into the edge of a sheet of homasote, then cutting the length to make the section 2" wide which matches the plywood. I also cut out a large section that basically just matched the plywood in one section that was a bit more complicated. (it's the piece under the stack of homasote sections).

So, this Thursday is Train Night at my house again. I'll have the crew install all that homosote so that everything from Lindenwood yard to the Hidden Return Loop has homasote as a base. There's also a 3 track wide section that extends from the hidden return loop to make a small staging yard. I'll have the crew cut out that piece of plywood and install it as well. A small transition at SE Junction needs to be routed into Lindenwood yard. This will form a transition from cork base (on homasote) to Lindenwood Yard which will be track directly on homasote.
