A third generation Isadora Duncan Dancer, Kathryne learned the Duncan technique and repertory in a direct line from Isadora to Maria Theresa, Anna and Irma Duncan to Hortense Kooluris, Julia Levien, Gemze de Lappe and Sylvia Gold with whom she studied.   She trained in ballet with Ivan Najy, Rebecca Webb Lentz and Boris Subotich, and in modern dance with numerous modern icons including Dot Murphy of the Charles Weidman Company and Bella Lewizky.   Ms. Cassis was Principal and Soloist with the New Orleans Isadora Duncan Dancers and was Artistic Director of the Isadora Duncan Repertory Company.   She was on staff at the New Orleans School of Ballet, under the Directorship of Rebecca Webb Lentz, where she taught the Duncan technique to adults and children.

 

Ms. Cassis has taught and lectured at numerous colleges and universities, and has danced to acclaim as a soloist in salon settings and on stages throughout the United States including The Hellenic Arts Society, Common Ground Theatre New York, Dillard University, Lincoln Center, New Orleans Center for the Creative Arts, Loyola University, The Theater Project-Vermont, Newcomb College, Scripps College, and Dance Kaleidoscope/Grand Performances.  

Kathryne currently resides in Los Angeles where she performs and teaches private classes.
