Mashuka also led us to a large family of cheetahs, violently dining on what we think was a slain gazelle (it was a little hard to identify being not much more than a   red, wet pile of gore).

The cheetahs were incredible but I still wish I could have seen one run.
Those two at the back were posted as guards, scanning for other predators or scavangers.
I got hungry watching this.
The guards were all-business until it was their turn to eat.
Then they grabbed some nice chunks and headed to the shade for to enjoy their payment.
They got boring, but zebras were really good subjects--almost posing for us and always managed to be in great light.
A zebra couple, a male and a female checks us out.
Still haven't id'd this bird. Anyone know?
Brenda typically shot through the window while I was standing with my lens on a sandbag.

Late in the afternoon we ran across a "small" herd of about 50 or so elephants. We stayed and shot them for a long time until the big bull of the bunch flared his ears and yelled at us in a way that said "I'm going to knock over your stupid jeep if you don't scram." We scrammed.
