teaser: Seized by a fit of spring madness, Al, Guy, Jerry, and Brick, students at a small Midwestern college, plan a robbery — just to prove they could get away with it if they wanted to. The theoretical victim is Harold's Club, a gambling house in Reno, where they had all had jobs the previous summer. Undertaken as a lark, the project suddenly becomes dead serious as each discovers he has a compelling reason for making it so; particularly Al, who needs money to marry Tina Greylek. It is Tina who thinks of a way to get into Reno leaving no trail; and she is eager to accompany them. They agree to go ahead with their plans as though they were actually going to carry them out, making the crossing of the Nevada State boundary the moment of final decision.
