teaser: Eve Ryan was bored; she wished something would happen. It was a perfectly reasonable wish but she shouldn't have confided it to Timberlake, her antic husband. He was only too happy to oblige.

summary: At home reading, Timberlake Ryan answers the telephone. He attracts his wife's, Eve's, attention by pretending to being informed of an inheritance. When he pushes the inheritance to include a harem, Eve realizes the call is just a wrong number.

Eve admits she wishes something exciting would happen. She asks Tim to entertain her. She wants something to happen to her; something different. When Tim's efforts fall short, Eve retires to take a bath.

While Eve bathes, Tim develops an idea. He makes several telephone calls.

When Eve returns to the living room, Tim pretends to have given up smoking. The door buzzer then sounds, and Eve answers it.

It's a telegram from Eve's cousins, Edna and Clair, asking Eve and Tim join them on a one month religious revival tour. Tim suggest they accept the invitation, almost convincing Eve she previously told her cousins she wanted to do so.

The telephone rings, and the caller informs Eve she will win an Everette fitted handbag if she can indentify a tune. Tim helps Eve identify the song as On the Banks of the Wabash.

The door buzzer sounds again, and a monkey is delivered to Eve. Tim suggests they can train the monkey to help around the house, but Eve does not want the animal in their apartment. Fortunately, the delivery man returns to reclaim the monkey, saying he delivered it to the wrong address.

As Tim brings prepare drinks for himself and Eve, the telephone rings again. Eve's friend Ann announces she is pregnant.

As they prepare to retire for the evening, Eve admits the evening was exactly what she'd been hoping for.
