Dethroned in 1808 and imprisoned in France. Abdicated and remained exiled in Italy.
Died in 1819 in Rome.

Married secondly in 1816 in Madrid Princess Isabella of Portugal (*1797 Queluz,+1818 Madrid).
Married thirdly in 1819 in Madrid Princess Maria Josepha of Saxony (*1803 Dredsen,+1829 Aranjuez).
Married fourthly in 1829 in Madrid Princess Maria Christina of the Two Sicilies (*1806 Palermo,+1878 Le Havre).
He was never crowned.
His issue who reigned: ISABELLA II (*1830,+1904; daughter of Maria Christina).
Dethroned in 1808 and imprisoned in France. Regained his throne in 1814.

Buried in the Dome des Invalides in Paris.
His consort Queen Julie was buried in the Church of Santa Croce in Florence.

His issue who reigned: ALFONSO XIII (*1886,+1941; son of Maria Cristina).
Died in 1885 in El Pardo.
Buried together with his second consort Queen Maria Christina in the Monastery of San Lorenzo de el Escorial.
His first consort, Queen Maria de la Mercedes, was buried in the Cathedral of Almudena in Madrid.

Died in 1941 in Rome.
Buried firstly in the Church of Santa Maria di Monserrato in Rome.
In 1980 reburied together with his Queen Victoria Eugenia in the Monastery of San Lorenzo de el Escorial.
