CASTILE:
The crown and the sceptre of Queen Isabella I the Catholic of Castile are kept in the Royal Chapel (Capilla Real) in Granada.

SPAIN:
The Spanish regalia are kept in the Patrimonio Nacional in Madrid and include:
-Crown of Spain (1775),
-Sceptre (early 17th century).

Queens Isabella II and Victoria Eugenia (Alfonso XIII’s consort) had small personal crowns.

SPAIN
Coronation was never introduced in Spain. Spanish kings were usually inaugurated at simple ceremonies of accession and oath-takings in the Cortes.

ARANJUEZ:
Royal Palace (Palacio Real; summer residence built for Philip II).



BARCELONA:
Royal Palace (Palau Reial Major; mediaeval residence of the Counts of Barcelona, later used by Spanish kings).



EL ESCORIAL:
Royal Palace (Monasterio de San Lorenzo el Real; residence built for Philip II, includes a royal palace, a monastery and a royal mausoleum).

Alhambra (a Renaissance palace of Charles I built within Moorish Alhambra).



LA GRANJA DE SAN ILDEFONSO:
Palacio de la Granja de San Ildefonso (royal residence built for Philip V in 1720).



MADRID:
Royal Palace (Palacio Real; the official residence of the Spanish king).

Zarzuela Palace (Palacio de la Zarzuela; the home of the Spanish Royal Family since 1962).



PALMA DE MALLORCA:
The Royal Palace of l'Almudaina (Palau Reial de l’Almudaina; mediaeval royal palace of kings of Mallorca and kings of Aragon. Later used by Spanish kings. Nowadays it serves as the official residence of the Spanish king in Palma de Mallorca).

Palacio Marivent (summer residence of the Spanish Royal Family).



RIOFRIO NEAR SEGOVIA:
Real Sitio de Riofrio (royal palace built for Queen Isabella Farnese in 1752).



SAN SEBASTIAN:
Palacio Miramar (a residence built for Queen Maria Cristina in 1889).



SEGOVIA:
Alcazar (mediaeval royal residence).



SEVILLE (Sevilla):
Realez Alcazares (mediaeval royal palace built for Peter I).



TOLEDO:
Alcazar (Charles I’s fortress-palace).
