Ma's Coffee Rolls

Ingredents: 

1 pkg dry yeast
1⁄4 cup warm water
1 cup scalded cooled milk
3 cups flour (about)
1⁄4 cup butter
3 tab spoons sugar
1 egg slightly beaten
1-teaspoon salt
                                   
Filling:
1 cup soft butter
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
 
Dissolve yeast in water—stir in milk
And 1-cup flour – beat until smooth
Let stand ½ hour – cream butter --sugar           
Add egg and salt. Beat mixture into
Beat mixture into yeast sponge
Add remaining flour to make soft dough
Knead until smooth – place in greased
Bowl, grease surface of dough – cover and
Let rise until double (about 1 hour).
 
Roll dough into rectangle 12” x 18”
Spread with butter – sprinkle on sugar and
Cinnamon –roll dough tightly – cut in pieces
Place in baking pan - let rise until light
Bake at 400* for 20 to 25 min – remove from
Pan – turn out on rack while warm – dribble
With conf sugar icing
Icing: 2-cup conf sugar
1⁄2 cup milk – 1 tsp. vanilla
