Ma's Chocolate Cake
"She measured out the butter with a very solemn air.
The milk and sugar also, she took the greatest care
To count her eggs correctly, and to add a bit of baking powder
Which you know beginners oft omit
Then she stirred it all together and she baked it full one hour
But she never quite forgave herself for leaving out the flour."


2 cups sugar  
1 1/2 tsp. soda
1 3/4 cups flour   
3/4  cups cocoa   
1 1/2 tes. baking powder  
1 tes. Salt  --  2 eggs  
1 cup milk – 1/2 cup veg oil 
2 tes vanilla 
1 cup boiling water

Grease and flower 2” to 9”  pan  
In large bowl—stir flour,sugar,cocoa
Baking powder, soda, salt     
Add eggs-milk-oil & vanilla  
Beat 2 min. sir in boiling water 
Mix will be thin-pour in pans  
Bake at 350* - 35 min in round pan
