It just gets curiouser and curiouser!
The New York Times and CBS News reportiing that somehow the military lost track of 380 tons of explosives in Iraq. It takes just a pound of this stuff to bring down a passenger jet. Our government knew where it was before we attacked Iraq, but somehow let it get away. Dooh! The Bush administration has known about it for months, but the news just came out today. What an October surprise!
CBS had planned to run the story on the October 31 edition of 60 Minutes, but when it became clear that it wouldn't hold until then it reluctantly gave the go-ahead for its reporting partner, the New York Times to run with it. |
Meanwhile, the campaign is heating up. Bush this morning on Good Morning America. Karen Hughes even got him to smile for Charlie Gibson!
Diane Sawyer and Katie Couric both interviewed John Kerry this morning. Yesterday Kerry turned to the scriptures to condemn Bush.
And President Clinton is the comeback kid -- off his sick bed, looking for Bubba votes for Kerry. He campaigned today in Florida and in Pennsylvania -- where the Times reports he got a "rock star's welcome." |
