A Salt Lake Company is betting that over the air digital television can challenge cable and satellite television, according to today's New York Times. U.S. Digital Television, Inc., offers viewers specialty networks normally offered only on cable and satellite. However, the company distributes them over the air, using the extra digital bandwidth broadcasters gained with the passage of the 1996 Telecommunications Act.
The company is run by former KSL president (and BYU quarterback) Steve Lindsley. |
