The Associated Press has a story on Brokaw's last election night, as well as the NBC anchorman's plans after stepping down from the Nightly News desk (travel, visit the grandkids). Also, the AP has more on the network's huge plans for election night.
To the extent that my current college students know the three network anchors at all, they've only known Dan, Tom, and Peter. This is the first anchor change at the big three networks since 1984. So this is a big deal. Not to put any pressure on Brian Williams, but the Washington Post writes that he's got big shoes to fill.
