The pressure apparently got to Sinclair Broadcasting. The company was going to air a documentary critical of Senator Kerry last week. When met with a public outcry, dropping stock prices, and the spectre of a consumer boycott of advertisers, the broadcast chain aired a news special instead. The damage may have already been done. Sinclair already had gained plenty of negative publicity and fired one of its top journalists because of the affair.
