NYU's journalism school reports it is bursting at the seams with rising enrollments. According to the school's newspaper, Washington Square News, the numbers reflect "a nationwide surge of interest in undergraduate journalism."
We've seen the numbers rise at BYU, too. Both print and broadcast numbers are up. We just admitted more than 40 new broadcast journalism students during the fall semester and had to turn away about a dozen.
It would be interesting to know why more students are interested in journalism as a career. |
