Brokaw to say farewell at 'Democracy Plaza'

Tom Brokaw is entering his final weeks in the anchor chair of NBC Nightly News.

"I'm completely at peace with my decision," Brokaw tells the NY Daily News. "It's been a great run. I've enjoyed every waking moment."

NBC News is pulling out all the stops for its election night coverage, Brokaw's last big news event as Nightly anchor. Brokaw will anchor from an outdoor booth overlooking Rockefeller Plaza, where the famous skating rink will be transformed into a giant electoral map. Red and blue maps will be placed on the GE building to show how many electoral votes each candidate has captured.

The set, dubbed NBC News Democracy Plaza, is already set up and being used by MSNBC.
