Using the Canon Digital Elph in still image mode and taking snapshots every third-of-a-mile or so, this movie takes one along the original entrance path to Yellowstone National Park. It starts at Livingston and follows the Yellowstone River as it wends its way from Lake Yellowstone, further south and higher in elevation. This is following basically the same ridge path in the Montana Rockies as the Icelands Parkway follows in the Canadian Rockies. This is much further south, by about 350 miles, so the mountains are not as sheer and are more covered with trees and less with snow (in fact at this time of the year there was no snow left).
