Mark CrabtreeI live in Morgantown, W.Va. with my wife Kathy Fletcher and our cat Mary Lou.PhotographyI've been a photographer for many years now. After working for two West Virginia newspapers, I started my own photography business around 1980.My work with historic panoramic photographs led to my specializing in panoramic work. Since 1983 I have earned my living almost entirely with my rotating panoramic camera, a #10 Cirkut Camera made by Eastman Kodak in the early 30's. Now I'm expanding my photographic interests to publishing on the web. My first effort is a photo story on Coalwood, W.Va. home of the Rocket Boys from the movie October Sky. Other InterestsI have a lot of casual interests: morel hunting, mountain biking, kayak sailing (not the most practical hobby in W.Va.), and vintage motorcycles (at least other people say they're vintage. My motorcycle interests just stopped developing in 1970).Then there is my true obsession with West Virginia old time fiddle music. I've been lucky to know some of the finest old time musicians and have been learning the fiddle myself since around 1989. Give me another 30 or 40 years and I'll have it licked. |
