I'm back from Italy
What a week! I had a great time in Rome, not so much
fun in Venice but a great time overall.
I saw everything and pictures are on the
way. I have to make the page, by hand of course and I have around 200 pictures
so it might take a while. Look for something in a couple days.
Sarah is still over there, visiting
family so now I'm all sad and lonely without her. She has a sweet video of the
Pope in person! Yea baby, we saw the Pope at St. Peters Cathedral and he gave
like a 5 minute deal to some school kids. They wheeled him around like he was a
rock star and I was all excited. He kind of talks like Marlon Brando in the
Godfather.
Oh, and in keeping with
tradition I got sick as a dog my first 3 days there. Nothing like food poisoning
to start a vacation off the right way. I spent much of the first day in Venice
in the bathroom throwing up and some other stuff you don't care to know. I think
I get sick anytime I go anywhere.
Sorry
I didn't blog from the road Jeff, but the internet seemed to be a bit of a
foreign concept to the people of Italy. I didn't find any wireless points that I
could use, no T-Mobile Hot Spot or anything. The only internet points I found
sucked and wanted me to use a PC so I decided to wait.
The Vatican was really cool. Way to much
to take in all at once though. We spent a day there and I swear that every
square inch of the place is covered in priceless artwork. I tried not to think
about where the money came from to build all of this stuff, I thought there was
a vow of poverty. Well, goes to show you, anything that gets to powerful almost
immediately becomes corrupt. Instead of feeding the poor, they were building a
church out of gold.
Well, now it's time
to play catch up in school so look for more updates later.
