Poor Defenders
Some anti-spyware companies use
confusing ads, and our tests show their $20-$60 products are less effective
than free competitors.

Since most of the visitors to my site
are on windows machines, this might be a worth while read. My take on it is that
once again, the open source model is better for the consumer. Just because
someone is selling something doesn't mean that it actually does what it says.
Open source software is looked at by tons of very smart people and almost always
is way better than the crap thats sold.
The thing that kills me the most is that
only the windows world has these problems. There is no spyware for any *nix
distro. I will reiterate once again that you don't need any kind of Microsoft
product in your life. Take a chance, try a mac, linux or freebsd. Anything is
better than windows and it all works very well.
