Defining Success

Well, at least the Dems have finally admitted their main weakness...they wouldn't know success if they tripped over it. Readily noticeable in their domestic programs where success is discouraged and social self-esteem is paramount. It has also been apparent for decades that Democratic foreign policy is based on a policy of appeasement.

All of this has left them unable to recognize success, and that is stated as much by their rank and file.

In the pre-filed AP report on tonight's speech by President Bush, Rep. John Murtha (D-Pa.) stated the following:

"We just don't have a clue what the criteria for success is..."

Now this was supposed to be a shot at Bush, accusing him of having no timetable for exit from Iraq. However, what the Dems don't realize is that success here will be self evident, and will be achieved by standing fast and finishing the job, not the time honored Dem strategy of "cut and run".

Perhaps if the Dems knew how to recognize success, they would be in a better position to challenge Bush in the military arena.
