Blogs Round up Pork

Lets all help the Blogosphere identify Congressional Pork Projects that can be targeted for budgetary 're-direction' to the billions needed for Katrina relief.

I have already ID two projects here in Texas....go find some in your state that you would be willing to give up in order to fund the billions earmarked for relief.

UPDATE: Since I am a military guy, I figured what better place to find some unneeded spending, than money slated to go to military bases that have come out on the BRAC list. In my initial digging, and I found a couple of items. Both have been added to the Porkbusters list.

-Otis Air National Guard Base is slated to get a brand new Air Traffic Control tower and the price of $7mil. However, Otis is in essence being closed (it is being 'realigned'), as the BRAC has recommend moving all of its F-15Cs to other Guard bases. Without a permanent aircraft presence, I don't see an immediate need for a new tower.

-Naval Air Station Brunswick is slated to get a brand new $6.22mil replacement weapons magazine. However, NAS Brunswick has been recommend for closure by the BRAC.
