Kennedy is Out of Focus

Over on The Corner, Cliff May makes a great point about Ted Kennedy's comment that we need less focus on Iraq, and more focus on al-Qaeda.

As May rightly points out, the biggest base of operations today is Iraq due to the 'flytrap' effect. All the young terrorist wannabes want to fight in Iraq because it is the 'in place to be' for the burgeoning Islamofacist.

Ironically, because of that the fortunes of al-Qaeda operations in other places around the globe have been sinking due to Iraq sucking up all the bodies. And the MSM thought that the US Military had recruiting problems....

So Kennedy wants to focus on al-Qaeda, but in order to do so, he would shift our efforts away from the biggest current target, to some other unmentioned locale where we would fight al-Qaeda.

I guess in Ted Kennedy's world, al-Qaeda only exists in Afghanistan, and to properly fight the GWOT, we must forsake Iraq and return to Afghanistan.
