Dems New Military Strategy
The Democrats were recently restored to power in
the Congress, miraculously bereft of any new ideas or plans for the future.
Well, it only took them a couple weeks, but they finally have announced their
new plan for the U.S. military.Lets
review it shall we?High
School students should have no contact whatsoever with the military,
but as
soon as they graduate we will draft their
asses!I love the clearheaded,
logical consistency!I can certainly
understand the why we need such a comprehensive policy. I was straddling the
fence, but then I was won over by the following unassailable argument out of San
Fran: "We don't want the military ruining
our civilian institutions..." Eureka! Problem
solved...
In all seriousness, this type of tripe
makes me ill. Bill
Bennett made a great point in his show last Thursday, about how these
little "People's Republics" with their sanctimonious leftist policies in the
name of diversity or justice or whatever, only exist thanks to the parallel
existence of the U.S. military. Lucky for them, no matter how often they "bite
the hand", the hand will never slap them back. That is the beauty of this great
country...despite any of the militaristic conspiracy theories that Bay Area
residents wish to believe.Ultimately San
Francisco is entirely
too
full of itself anyhow. Based on this policy, I might have decided never to
spend any of my future tourist dollars in that city. However, I had already
made that decision 5 years ago. In the days following 9/11, my wife and I were
stuck in SF (after a nice time in Napa Valley) awaiting a flight home to
Northern Virginia. In general, we found it to be highly overrated, crowded,
expensive, and a pretty dirty place. So, this latest policy only reinforces my
opinions on the place, as I am sure it does for may other
Americans.As for the irascible Charlie
Rangel and his constant push to reinstate the draft, one only needs to know that
the last time he proposed it, he
ended up voting against his own legislation when it came to the
floor.Congratulations
Democrats! Your newfound power and oversight is off to a great
start!
