Jesse Macbeth & Rathergate Redux?

Much has been made of late about the anti-war video made by one Jesse Macbeth, a self acclaimed Army Ranger and war criminal.

McQ at The QandO Blog has some posts with a trove of useful information about Macbeth. Check them out here and here.

Some of the information that McQ dug up (based on leads from Macbeth himself) suggests Macbeth was assigned to the 2nd Battalion-47th Infantry, D Co, which is not a combat unit but a Basic Training unit. This unit information matches that which is found on a document alleging to be Macbeth's discharge form.

That Macbeth was discharged by a training unit would seem to match information supplied to McQ by someone claiming to be his half sister (see McQ's second link above and this link).

Now the strange thing I see about the form above is the fact that the text in sections 11 & 13 seems to be of a different typeface than the rest of the information typed into any other section. I don't base this on anything other than the naked eye, but it reminds me of the Rathergate documents.

What makes this interesting is that these seem to be the two sections which would most need to be forged in order to support his stories of being a combat veteran. I am not Army, but have a lot of experience with military forms.

I only put this out there for discussion. Anyone else is welcome to take a closer look at this.

UPDATE: Better men than I, John at OPFOR, and Smash seem to have beat me to the same conclusion...
