Those Who Can't Do, Legislate

So the Dems have released Version 3.2 of the "Slow Bleed" plan, which is really more like the "Stop bleeding soon or we will rip the bandage off and then you will know what real bleeding is" plan.

But this really on shows us again how the Dems, who never met a piece of 'Nanny State' legislation they didn't go agog over, are probably really, lousy parents. Or at least the would be if they parent like they legislate.
"House Democrats today unveiled a plan for pulling U.S. troops out of Iraq by the end of August 2008, introducing legislation that attaches a complex series of conditions to military spending requested by President Bush.

The plan, described in a Capitol Hill news conference by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and other Democratic leaders, would require Bush to certify that the Iraqi government is meeting military, political and economic benchmarks. If he cannot, it would move up the U.S. withdrawal to as early as the end of this year."

So we are over there to help the Iraqis gain their foothold in freedom, but if they slip up just once, it's back into the anarchic and despotic abyss with them!

Imagine if you used such methods in raising a child, unsure of their way in the world. Imagine teaching them to ride a bike this way.

"Timmy. You need to learn to keep your balance within the next five minutes, pedal in a straight line without falling over within ten, and learn to turn around and come back within fifteen. Miss one of those deadlines, and we are throwing the bike in the trash, and you'll be grounded for a month with no friends, you slacker."

Cumbayah!
