Sun - December 28, 2003Baia Mare [picts]A visit to my hometown, the city that learns.
I've been in Baia Mare for a few days--a small town (well, maybe not so
small anymore) in the Northern part of Romania, in the county of Maramures. I
was puzzled again to see clean streets and the amiable taxi drivers--small
things you cannot have in Bucharest. The old, historic center of the city is
being restored and reconstructed, transformed into a nice, cozy place with cafes
and restaurants to hang out. Some of the very old buildings in the area are
restored and transformed into office buildings wired with fiber optic for
broadband internet. Every time I go home there is something new, something that
makes me proud of my hometown, the city that learns.
I got two snapshots from one of the town's many bridges. ![]() ![]() Posted Sun - December 28, 2003 at 03:57 PM Back to | | Feedback: | Read posts: | |
