This blog is one year old today, so now it may be a good moment to blog about the blog itself, if you can bear so much self-recursiveness.

A good question for bloggers is 'why do you write?' and the answer(s) don't come easy. But I'll try and squeeze a few:
◊ To give a sign to my friends that I'm still alive and kicking, even if there are months and months when we do not have time to see each other.
◊ It's a place to write about Brandient's achievements, the company (and the family) I'm such a lucky bastard to be part of.
◊ It's a good place to write down thoughts about design, branding or advertising whenever I feel like it, without the noise or the sheer absurdities inherent to online forums and discussion lists.
◊ To maintain some virtual contact to my younger fellow designers, and give them food for thought once in a while.
◊ It's a bit of Romania (as it is), otherwise not visible from outside.
◊ I see it as a good opportunity to 'meet' (online, mainly) new people, and some of the people I've made contact with through this blog are really interesting.
◊ It's a good place to show my photographic work -- you, know, those 480 pixels wide jpegs my friends and my beloved colleagues never f#%king ever post any comments about. But strangers do.
◊ It's a place for Prizzi to get infatuated with her feline persona.

The anniversary caught me during a terribly busy time, so the layout facelifting/redesign I was thinking about has to wait. Well, good things come to... you know.

So, if you have any thoughts, improvement suggestions, critique remarks, lost luggage claims or only want to post a goddamn smiley, hit the comments and speak up! (The drink is on me.)
