Do blogs get too personal?

Airbag gets pretty personal in that Anniversary post, doesn't it? It is a beautiful post, don't get me wrong, but really – do blogs affect our sense of what's private and what's not?

Let me explain. Ten years ago a glimpse into someone's private life was more like a celebrity problem and only a fortunate few could have space in a newspaper or magazine to rant about what happened in his/her life that day or week. Well, and there always was and will be the hard way – writing a book.

Today millions open their hearts in front of a flow of more or less anonymous IPs visiting their weblogs. Anniversary is an interesting story because it's like a split-screen shot: on one side we see what length one needed to go in order to get public with his feelings ten years ago and on the other side how immediate and easy is to blog about it today.

What about you, fellow bloggers, do you get personal? Do you feel like it but resist temptation or you enjoy conceding once in a while and letting all out? There are various tips and tricks, sure, like protecting the real identity and omitting the really personal stuff from a story, but nevertheless – does our sense of privacy get somehow distorted by blogging, do we get somehow desensitized?
