And chance – right in the middle
I have no idea whether I should feel grateful or be scared shitless
– this would have been my fourth or fifth day in Thailand with my friends,
shouldn't we cancel cancel our tickets to Phuket island (860 km south of
Bangkok) back in the first half of November.
On Thai beaches 310 died today.
There are things you avoid thinking about, then suddenly bang!, you have to face them. I feel confused. God help those people who bought our tickets!
Update: Death toll excedes 20000 with 839 confirmed dead in Thailand. The Moderate Voice aggregated a list of blogs updated with witness stories.
Update 2: Numbers are rising, at least 23,000 people have died in the Indian ocean earthquake disaster. Readers of the BBC News website have been sending in their own experiences of the disaster.
The Red Cross' web site would not process payments from Romania, as the 'country' field in the credit card contribution page form keeps reseting to United States. Even if it affects only Romania or only Macintosh browsers, this is a serious bug.
