Tue - September 27, 2005Apple Store London (II)Snapshots time
I promised in the previous post some picts from Apple Store London and unfortunately they're not
so many and I could not stitch them together right because I took them with
different focal lengths. But anyway, here we go, I stitched them by
hand.
![]() Here is a larger one. I took the snapshots on my way out, from the sidewalk actually. Sou you can see the ground floor to the stairs and the equipment on display on both sides. ![]() What you cannot see are the cash desks beyond the stairs and the bazillion people on the right hand side. ![]() Upstairs you see a glimpse of the timber benches people rest, browse the net or wait for access to the Genius Bar (on the left side from this angle) and the suspended glass floor where those guys queue at the cash desk. ![]() Here's what a Genius Bar is:
At the heart of every Apple Store is the Genius Bar, offering hands-on, real-time solutions to Apple-related technical problems. Got a question? Need advice? Then you’ll want to visit with one of our Geniuses. They’re experts in everything Apple and can answer your questions, offer solutions, handle repairs, and provide technical support. What you cannot see is the conference area, right in front of the stairs, that looks like a small theatre with a big screen where keynotes are held and products are presented and where in the comfy armchairs one can watch the presentation, movies or commercials or just take his laptop out of the bag and do web surfing, e-mail, chat or blogging like I did. You cannot see all the stuff on display on the right side: accessories, printers, scanners, boomboxes for iPods and audio equipment, software and so on and so forth. Right near the glass overpass there's The Studio:
The Studio is the creative hub of the Apple Store, Regent Street. A place where your ideas and our help come together to enhance your Mac projects. Whether your interest is photography, moviemaking, music or everyday use of your Mac, our team of Creatives can help you. They’ll teach you one-on-one how to re-touch photos, compose music and make Hollywood-style movies. Or how to make a logo or design a slick letterhead. All in all, as I said, what you see is not all what you get — because the experience is so much more than that. And it's amazing.
