Tue - May 18, 2004Life is OKGoogle river brought a message in a bottle
This morning I got a hit from Google -- someone hooked to the Verizon
network (I hate the
logo, btw, what a shame) in New York was searching for the string
"Life is OK".
Who was awake at night questioning life in the city that never sleeps? Was it a broken heart trying to recover after the breakup? The happy winner of some teleshopping prize? Someone ill and suffering looking for comfort? A bored teenager? A zen beginner in doubt? Was it a stoned young exec pressing "I'm Feeling Lucky" just before he left for a dance club? Was someone fired that day, someone catastrophically falling in love, a priest, a hooker, a surgeon, a killer, a dj, a broker, a god? A room full of monkeys typing at random? Was it Google itself becoming self-conscious and meditating about life for the first time? Was it you, the guy who are reading now? Well, I hope it was a designer feeling inspired, typing ecstatic his blessing into the network streams, sharing his moment with all of us. Life is OK!
