Who are we?

Cork Youth Orchestra was born in 1958, making it by far the oldest or longest established Youth Orchestra in Ireland. Cork Youth Orchestras Limited was incorporated in December 2002 to provide a new management structure for the future. It is run by a Board of Directors, made up entirely of parents of orchestra members who provide their time and efforts on an entirely voluntary basis. They organise all weekly rehearsals, all activities, all performances, nationally and internationally. They will never say no to offers of help or expertise. They have the best interests of the orchestras and their members at heart in everything they do.

The Annual General meeting was held on Sunday the 8th October 2006.

The Board of Directors for 2006/7 is as follows:
Paula O’Sullivan (Chairperson), Fergus Ó Coileáin (Hon. Treasurer),
Declan O’Toole (Hon. Administrator/Secretary), Jacqueline O’Connell (Orchestra Manager), Tomás McCarthy (Musical Director), Terry McCarthy (Asst. Musical Director), Gerard O’Shea, Martin Barrett, Teresa Cadogan, Bridie-May O'Cathasaigh, Barry O'Connor.

Their term of office will end at the next Annual general Meeting to be held in October 2007.
