Why Parrish Why?

Watching t.v. and vegging out are a Sunday night tradition here at the ol' homestead. Suddenly I get a hankering for some treat, so i go in the kitchen and what do I see but water running onto the floor from the sink. I cry out at Parrish "what are you doing?" He comes in and cleans all the water up. But then thirty minutes later we here "Hello" and apparently the water leaked into the apartment below us, so they walked in while we were in the bedroom half naked! Parrish explained everything but they are still coming back tomorrow. Oi vey!

Today is Monday April 4, 2005

Today was the first installment of stitch and bitch Juiie, Jane, Allie, Fran, and Bonnie style. So basically we all sat and around (drank) ate loads of good food. I had Parrish help me because I am a not so good cook. But the lasagne we made together was very good. There was also french bread and cupcakes that I decorated as balls of yarn. There were no pictures however and there are no surviving cupcakes. I did a few other things today.
1. Transmission fluids flushed and replaced as well as oil change
2. Dentist appointment May 2 at 2:30
3. ACORN housing TOMORROW!!!
4. Logo finished and sent off.
5. Grocery store for pasta and cheese
6. bath time
7. Knit knit knit
8. Fun with friends
So stitch and bitch was a success. They said that I had to sit out from cooking next week though. Hooray! I'll just drink instead of cooking.Anywho, it was very fun. I am glad that this will be a Monday night ritual. Also I learned how to PURL instead of just knitting which is what I usually do. So now I can get fancy with my knitting. Anyways if anyone still reads this even though I don't update much I love you all! Oh also Fran said that there may be a job at the tute that I could apply for. I would be Andreas assistant in the media center. That sounds cool, we could use the extra dough. I still like working at Muddy's because Oliver is funny and my regulars are nice and I get to see lots of cute babies, but if I get a better paying job maybe I can have a cute baby of my own sooner in a house of our own too. Hmmm...but then I would have to work and not be able to spend time with my cute baby! Oi oi oi. Oh, well that's the future and things are pretty okay as they are now. Now to work on getting a house. Who knows maybe lower income means more grant money to help us poor little first time home-buyers. I hope so. Spring is here and I need more room.

Yum Yum Salmon the easy way

Allrighty. This is a recipe for what they might call "hobo" salmon or campfire salmon.
10 STEPS TO GREAT SALMON!
Step 1. Buy fresh salmon from costco. It is cheap and delicious and will feed many people or you can freeze it like me.
Step 2. Get fresh garlic and mince finely and rub into fish gently.
Step 3. Cover rest of fish in lemon juice and white pepper.
Step 4. In my world I call this a marinade when you let it sit around for like 4 hours in the fridge.
Preheat oven to 350 F
Step 5. Cut up some potatoes and some onion.
Step 6. Cut up salmon into individual portions.
Step 7. Make tinfoil pouches large enough to hold fish some cubed potatoes and onions. Top with a small pat of butter and more salt and pepper.
Step 8. Fold tightly so that no air will escape but also leave a little "breathing" room between food and foil. This is so that steam can circulate within the packet and cook the fish.
Step 9. Put in oven and watch favorite 1/2 hour television show. Come back and turn over carefully. Prepare drinks and plates over the next 10-15 minutes and pull out packets from oven.
Step 10. EAT EM UP! Or put back in oven if potatoes aren't quite ready yet. Then EAT EM UP!

I am So Smart

S-M-R-T I mean S-M-A-R-T. Cause I figured out that I could take the compac flash card out of my old old and now no longer in business mp3 player and put it in the digital camera P has and quadruple the amount of picture taking power. Bwa-ha-ha. Also we went to see "Coffee and Cigarettes" which I really liked. Bill Murray funny man. He drank coffee right out of the pot. Tomorrow the summer program starts at the tute, and guess who's not an R.A. ? moi. But I am doing a mini-freelance job by taking pictures of the kiddlins and making them shell out dollas for them. I thinks that maybe I will charge a small hourly fee and then also a fee for the pictures that they want to use for various resources, brocures, web, etc.

Da trouble wit cars

So my tags expired in May and I went through extraordinary measures to get the new ones. First it had to be inspected. So I went downtown to get it inspected by Firestone. Once there I waited 2 hours to get it inspected and once they did inspect it they found there were NO rear breaks so they replaced those, but they also found a large hole in my muffler. They do not do mufflers there so I had to go back to midtown to get to CarX which sucks. The mechanics are all sleazy greasemonkeys unlike the fine gentlemen of Firestone. Also they cost me a whopping $205, which including the $150 price at Firestone brings me to a grand total of $355. Guess how much the check from my work-study jobs were that I had deposited that morning. $353. So that was A LOT of money that I spent last week. Including the mattress set that I bought (P bought the frame) I don't even want to talk about it. Glah!
Also new this week switching from Depo to da pill, wanted the patch but they said they could not keep enough stocked up, so it was a choice between Nuva-ring which grossed me out a bit or the pill. Reasons for the switch: 1. Weight gain (15 pounds, with no change in diet or exercise over a years usage) 2. Pain for a day or two in the arm they gave the shot to. 3. Read studies about how long it takes for a woman to get pregnant after going off the shot (average of 8 months, they say you shouldn't even attempt it before being off the shot for 6 months) The lady at Planned Parenthood asked my reasons for going off the shot, and I told her it hurt my arm, she said "Oh you should get the shot in the hip" and I'm like, "well they kept telling me to get it in the arm, and they just switched my arm each shot" she says "well, sorry". Here is what I did to the pill container to jazz it up.

Mice Dream

I was a very sleepy Bonnie last night and slept for a grand total of 13 hours. Hooray for sleep! But the reason that I woke up when I did was a little odd. I was dreaming of mice and what would happen if you found a nest of baby mice in the open. Well I thought to myself you shouldn't kill them but if you touch them the mother mouse would probably eat them. So I thought you should cover your hands in mud so they couldn't smell you and you could move the nest. And then I sort of made an interaction of that happen, and someone, Parrish maybe, was looking for mice out in the open and I thought he wouldn't find one, when all of a sudden he said he found one, and at that same time I felt a squirm on my legs (in real life) and jumped up. It turns out it was Hazel the whole time and she got frightened when I moved my legs so suddenly.
