All smiles just prior to start of the Nathan Hale 2M, August 1993. Having turned my ankle on the track 2 days before, I switched from the nasty Bridge of Flowers 10K to the "Fun Run" at the last minute. Damn good move, too, as I won the 30-39 age group with a time of 11:14 (the course was short by about 70 meters).
