Wow. Between one thing and another, I've been thinking about and reading a lot of Paul lately. This chunk of Peter comes at me like a stiff cool breeze on a hot muggy day. It's at a totally different tempo and it's so upbeat.
Have you read it? You should read it. I love the perspective of 1:10-12, that Christ is the centre of space and time, almost as if it's not so much that everyone in their own time points forward or backward to the Incarnation like some kind of theological gravity well, but as if everything in space and time flows out of that centre like a Big Bang where eternity met history. |
