'If I have a faith that can move mountains but do not have love, I am nothing.' What an amazing chapter. What amazing sentiments to find in any religion's Scriptures. Paul takes a saying of Jesus and, through the Holy Spirit who inspired him, goes beyond it and still keeps within the spirit of everything Jesus taught.
We believe in a Lord who tells us over and over again that belief and adherence to any creed about him is a starting point but isn't good enough. The demons believe and tremble. Neither love on it's own nor faith on its own are enough. What's needed is the working out of faith through love in the Spirit. |
