70 — Friday April 15 — Acts 1:1-11
By the time they get to the mountain on which the Ascension takes place, the disciples ask whether this is when the world of space-time ends (1:6). They must all have been thinking "Now I've seen everything".
But they haven't. There is so much ahead of them that the author of Acts can describe all the events of the gospel as merely what Jesus began to do and teach.
And the author of Acts probably has no idea that after the events that he describes there will be thousands of years of future history to come! |
